The Medical Work of JeanMarie Guenot


With more than two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, Jeanmarie Guenot has made a tremendous impact in the medical world. She has had the privilege of working with many stages of companies including both private and public. She currently serves as the President & CEO of Amphivena Therapeutics, Inc. This innovative company is responsible for a variety of cutting-edge therapies. Her work is admired and respected by many.


CrunchBase shows that before Guenot’s current role at Amphivena Therapeutics, she worked in a number of different positions at Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel and Shanghai. Her work as a business advisor served as the beginning of a long career in the medical world. It also led to her founding a start-up company known as SKS Ocular. Her work here allowed her to help with therapies for such disorders as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and ocular inflammation. This high level of work led to an amazing accomplishment in 2005 when she was awarded the Bio Business Network’s Innovative Bio-Partnering Award.


Jeanmarie Guenot has completed work at Hoffman-La Roche that is notable for several reasons. During this time she served as the Vice President of Corporate & Business Development where she was responsible for leading licensing many commercial product portfolios. Her work also included an $800 million transaction with Biogen Idec-PDL.


Guenot’s credentials prove she deserves her current accolades. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of California also obtained an MBA from the prestigious Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Her early years consisted of scientific study as a principal scientist in Preclinical R&D at Hoffmann-La Roche. Her work here led to the discovery and development of drugs for inflammation, autoimmune diseases and oncology. Over the years she has gained training in physical and medicinal chemistry. Her focus in quantum mechanical and semi-empirical methods is further evidence that she is well qualified for what she is doing.
