When it comes to Sujit Choudhry he is known for his amazing skills and as being an internationally renowned scholar who likes to address a wide range of issues on politics and comparative constitutional laws (constitutionaltransitions.org). One subject that he has a wide range of knowledge on and has managed to write about is Canadian Constitutional Law. This was not a subject that came easily to him and took years for him to specialize in but he was determined not to give up on the subject until he had specialized in it.
One of Sujit Choudhry’s most recent achievements includes a book that is scheduled for release with Constitutional Democracies in Crisis (works.bepress.com). The book is mainly focused on a tweet that was written by Eric Holder, who was the former Attorney General under President Obama. The tweet made by Eric Holder had stated that it was an absolute red line that Robert Mueller, White House Special Counsel, had the potential to be terminated.
In Sujit Choudhry’s dissection that he had made about Holder’s tweet he pointed out that the action was mainly based upon two different concepts. The first concept being the red line along with the uncontroversial constitutional boundary that is based on the fact that Holder believes in leaving it primarily up to the American people to be able to decide if or when officials abuse their power and authority.
Through Sujit Choudhry’s concept, he points out the fact that Holders tweet had added to the idea of constitutional self-enforcement, which is mainly built around the idea of a focal point. Choudhry then states that a violation of constitutional rules does not mean that a court should be able to automatically label them as a violation. This is what led to him being so surprised by Holder’s tweet that he had previously made. This tweet led to a whole study that interested Choudhry and made him determined to get to the bottom of no matter how much time and determination it was going to take him to figure it out.
