Call to Action
The Federal Government has come into a period of time where it has truly breached, the real and tangible intent of the Constitution, interestingly, finding the purpose of why our constitution was derived in the first place, can be answered through a review of the federalist papers, it speaks volumes about our current situation and an over-reaching federal government onto the “Sovereign People of Wyoming”.
During the time before the acceptance of the U.S. Constitution, the people had to be convinced of this “new Constitution”, that this new federal government would never become so powerful, in fear that it would be become a sovereign ruling entity upon itself. Today, we too see this same concern in the people as evidenced with an “ever powerful central government”.
Lets start with the title of the compiled, published version as follows, “FEDERALIST; A COLLECTION OF ESSAYS WRITTEN IN FAVOR OF THE NEW CONSTITUTION, AS AGREED UPON BY THE FEDERAL CONVENTION, SEPTEMBER 17, 1787.”
Lets take a look at what was stated in Federalist Letter number 45, to convince our predecessors of “no harm by a central government”, the following are the words of Samuel Adams:
”The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State”
“It has been already proved that the members of the federal will be more dependent on the members of the State governments, than the latter will be on the former. It has appeared also, that the prepossessions of the people, on whom both will depend, will be more on the side of the State governments, than of the federal government. So far as the disposition of each towards the other may be influenced by these causes, the State governments must clearly have the advantage”
“the States will retain, under the proposed Constitution, a very extensive portion of active sovereignty”
“the component parts of the State governments will in no instance be indebted for their appointment to the direct agency of the federal government”
“the number of individuals employed under the Constitution of the United States will be much smaller than the number employed under the particular States”
“The State governments may be regarded as constituent and essential parts of the federal government; whilst the latter is nowise essential to the operation or organization of the former”
To review:
The Federal Government would be very limited, as stated,”the powers delegated are few and defined.
Taxation would be limited - to these few “external matters”, war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce.
The Federal Government would be more dependent on the states and the states would have the “advantage”.
The States would retain “active sovereignty” and “powers retained by State Governments are “numerous and indefinite”.
The States would not be in “debt to the federal government”.
The Federal Government would “employ few” and would never be in dominion over a state.
The Federal Government would not be needed for the the operation or organization of a state.
We could go on but at this point it’s unneccesary, however the following questions are, will we allow this? or are we going to do something about it?
Join me, in realizing that we can no longer trust Washington D.C. to get it right and we must “turn the tides” now, we must force accountability and bring the power back to the Sovereign People of Wyoming.
The 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states - “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.”
Simply asking Washington to “Cease and Desist”, is no longer an option. Our state legislators must heed - Our Call to Action.
To True Liberty, we can pass on to our children and grandchildren,
